YMCA Camp Sloper Wish List

Make a wish and it may just come true!. Listed below is the official YMCA Camp Sloper - Day Camp Wish List. Our Day Camp Wish List is made up of things that would greatly enhance YMCA Camp Sloper, but are not exactly within our budgetary capacity at this point. If your family, friends, place of employment, business or anyone else you know is interested in making a donation for some of these capital improvements at YMCA Camp Sloper, please contact Mark Pooler, Outdoor Center Director, for details. This is a great opportunity and a wonderful way to leave a legacy at YMCA Camp Sloper. Our wish list includes:

  • A Swimming Pool: Every camper's dream is to have a swimming pool at YMCA Camp Sloper. This is by far the most popular request every summer on the end of the year camp evaluations.
  • East Coast Office Renovation: Our current East Coast Office is in need of a major facelift. It needs a new roof, new windows, new siding and some interior work.
  • Open-Air Pavilion(s): We are always in need of additional rainy-day and program space for our campers. We need an additional two or three 25' x 50' pavilions to accommodate our current and future enrollment numbers.
  • Teen Lounge/Cabin: As our West Coast program for teens continues to grow we are looking to construct a Teen Lounge/Cabin that will have all sorts of games, pool tables and other great things for our older campers to enjoy.
  • Playscape Expansion: Quite simply, our Playscape is just not big enough. We have plans for a 15-foot expansion that would make this popular area big enough for more campers to enjoy during camp and throughout the off-season.
  • Bocce/Horseshoe Pit Area: We are looking to develop a leisure sports area that will introduce bocce and horseshoes to the next generation and enhance our membership opportunities.
  • New Wood Chipper: We do a bunch of cutting and clearing of trees and brush annually to maintain our trails and facility. We would love to be able to chip all that brush and use the woodchips to enhance and clean up areas around camp.
